My office is where the buck stops because I am the broker. That means if anything goes wrong, it’s my job to fix it. Fortunately, my wife Kathy and I have been able to assemble the excellent staff that we have today, and all I usually have to do is sit around, drink coffee, and look intelligent. But seriously folks, I don’t take the responsibility of handling your real estate needs lightly. Along those lines, I believe that nothing takes the place of education and experience.
My experience includes over 33 years in real estate, covering all aspects of the residential, farm and ranch, and commercial business. I have a good working knowledge of West Texas and the Texas Hill Country. This would include most of the cities and communities located in those areas.
I preach the values of education to each of the agents associated with me, and I practice what I preach. Accordingly, I hold the GRI designation from the Texas Association of Realtors, The GAA designation from the National Association of Realtors, and the SRA and MAI designations from the Appraisal Institute. To date, I have taken and passed every appraisal course offered by the Appraisal Institute, and many that are offered by the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. I also teach a residential appraisal course at the San Antonio Board of Realtors from time to time.
Together, my wife Kathy and I have seven children. Can you understand our need to sell real estate? You can help. Call me or one of the agents today. We’ll get you involved in the opportunity of a life time, and maybe I’ll get some relief.
Meet Kathy Suttle – Broker Associate | Suttle & Company Real Estate
Some people choose the Texas Hill Country…
But for Kathy Suttle, it has always been home.
Kathy came to the small community of Leakey when she was just five years old. Her family’s roots in the Reagan Wells area go all the way back to the early 1900s. Growing up on the historic Rose Ranch, she spent her childhood exploring the mountains, following deer trails, catching crawdads in the creek, and ending summer days with a swim in the Frio River swimming hole.
Those early adventures created a lifelong love for the land, the river, and the tight-knit community that makes the Texas Hill Country such a special place to live.
Before entering real estate, Kathy served the community for 11 years with Leakey ISD, working in the Special Education Department and driving a school bus — touching the lives of many local families along the way.
In 2003, Kathy and her husband Dub Suttle opened Suttle & Company Real Estate, built on the belief that real estate should be personal, honest, and rooted in community. Kathy later earned her Broker’s License in 2013 and continues to help buyers and sellers navigate one of the most important investments of their lives.
Kathy holds several professional designations including:
• GRI – Graduate REALTOR® Institute
• CNE – Certified Negotiation Expert
• Member of the Realtors Land Institute
These credentials, combined with decades of local knowledge, allow her to guide clients through everything from ranch land to riverfront retreats.
But at the heart of Kathy’s work is something even more meaningful — relationships.
“I believe that buying or selling real estate is one of the most important investments you will make. I will stand by you from start to finish and hope our relationship becomes a friendship long after closing.” – Kathy Suttle
When she’s not working with clients, Kathy and Dub enjoy time with their seven children, spouses, and 13 grandchildren (with one more on the way!). They love traveling, gardening, listening to classic country music, and spending quiet evenings in the Frio Canyon they call home.
At Suttle & Company, clients truly become neighbors.
Wife, mom, small-town girl, and Realtor, let me introduce myself. My name is Elly Metcalf Wilson.
I was born in Manistique, Michigan, the youngest of six children. In the summer of 1984, my mom moved our family to the small Texas Hill Country town of Johnson City. At the time, I had no idea that move would become one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Although Michigan's Upper Peninsula will always hold a special place in my heart - especially the cherished visits back home to see my father, growing up in a small Texas town shaped who I am today. Johnson City gave me the kind of childhood where everyone truly knows your name, and it's where my love for small-town living began.
My professional journey started during high school when I had the opportunity to work for the City of Johnson City. What began as a part-time position eventually led to my role as Assistant City Secretary and Court Clerk, and the people I worked with quickly became like family.
Life took a wonderful turn during the summer of 1996 at the well-known Leakey Jubilee Fourth of July celebration. Thanks to a mutual friend, I met the love of my life, and as they say, the rest is history. In May of 2001, we were married, and within months we moved to his hometown of Leakey, where our life together truly began.
Together we started our family-owned water well drilling business and began raising our two wonderful children in the peaceful and beautiful Frio Canyon area. Both of our children attended school in Leakey Independent School District from kindergarten through graduation, which made our connection to this community even stronger.
Along the way, I also had the privilege of working for the Real County Appraisal District until our daughter was born in 2006. I then embraced the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom while continuing to help with our family business.
Today, both of our children have graduated from high school and are beginning their own journeys into adulthood. Our son is working on a tugboat, and our daughter is attending college. Watching them grow into hardworking young adults has been one of the greatest blessings of our lives.
I proudly serve as a Realtor Associate with Suttle and Company, helping clients buy and sell property throughout the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
My background working with local government, the appraisal district, and operating our own business has given me valuable insight into property values, land, and the local market. More importantly, it has prepared me to serve my clients with honesty, dedication, and the kind of small-town hospitality where clients truly become neighbors and friends.
Now that we are empty nesters, my husband and I enjoy spending as much time as possible with our family and loved ones, cherishing the moments together as we grow older.
Helping people find their place in the Texas Hill Country is truly a blessing. Whether you are searching for a home, land, a weekend getaway, or an investment opportunity, I would be honored to help you find your own piece of Heaven on Earth here in Leakey and the surrounding areas.
Because once you experience the beauty, peace, and community
of the Frio Canyon...
you may just decide to call it home.
